Helping Good Samaritans Clean Up Abandoned Hardrock Mines

For years Colorado legislatures have been trying to pass laws that would make it easier for groups to clean up toxic pollution from abandoned mines. These groups, which are not responsible for the pollution but want to clean it up anyway, are called, appropriately enough, Good Samaritans.

The funding opportunity announcement (BOR-UC-16-F001) for the Water Conservation Field Services Program Grant is now available on grants.gov and will close January 11, 2016, 4:00 p.m.  Mountain Standard Time.

SWCD Annual Seminar Presentations Now Available

The Southwestern Water Conservation District’s  27th Annual Water Seminar was held in Durango April 3, 2009. The event was attended by approximately 150 people.
