February 6, 2007--Snow Depth Lags in Region (Durango Herald)
Southwest Colorado's water concerns will likely continue in 2007 as the area remains one of the the more snow- and water-challenged in the state at about 76 percent of average...The Yampa and White River basins are at 68 percent of average. The region currently is storing slightly less water than it did last year, putting reservoir storage at two-thirds of the historic average. This is the lowest percent of average storage in the state...Statewide snowpack is at 91 percent of average.
