January 17, 2007--Water board sets a little aside for fish (Pueblo Chieftain)
The Pueblo Board of Water Works voted to continue to fund a Western Slope native fish recovery project it has participated in for 24 years...The pike and bass are two nonnative species of fish, which are being relocated under the Colorado River Endangered Fish Recovery Program...By removing nonnative species, the program is improving habitat for four native species: Colorado pikeminnow, bonytail chub, humpback chub and razorback sucker.
