December 15, 2007--Rifle sees big jump in water demand (Grand Junction Daily Sentinel)

The city’s engineering consultant, Schmueser Gordon Meyer Inc. of Glenwood Springs, recently told the Rifle City Council that water treatment capacity must increase within the next three to five years to handle growth from a number of large planned subdivisions. Growth demands have accelerated the demand for a new plant or expansions of the city’s two water plants, or a combination of both, Lambert said. Cost estimates range from $8.9 million to $25 million.
