January 5, 2008--Latest sewage spill did not reach creek (Pueblo Chieftain)
A spill that dumped more than 10,000 gallons of raw sewage into a Colorado Springs lake and park last month did not reach the Fountain Creek. "We are fairly certain that this was pretty much confined to the ground and the lake," said Gary Soldano, a field unit manager with the State Department of Public Health and Environment Water Quality Control Division. "The largest part of the spill was pretty much on the ground and we think most of the water seeped into the ground.
