January 8, 2008--Water issues on tap for legislative session (Pueblo Chieftain)
Measures dealing with water issues are expected to trickle into the Colorado Legislature during this year's session. Though it's too early to tell which water bills will be introduced during the 2008 session that begins on Wednesday, at least two ideas are being floated that could have long-term effects on the future of water in Colorado. One is designed to increase in-stream flows in the state's rivers, and another centers on concerns about how the state should react if downstream states push for their legal rights to get water that flows past the state's borders.
