January 10, 2008--Isgar wields clout as legislature convenes (Telluride Watch)
Senator Jim Isgar, who because of his leadership position is not subject to the five-bill limit imposed on most lawmakers, said he is sponsoring four bills for the Audit Committee, will carry most of the water bills coming from the Water Resources Review Committee and the Department of Natural Resources, and will be the primary Senate sponsor of bills dealing with conservation easements and net metering. Water-related bills that Isgar will sponsor include the annual construction bill from the Colorado Water Conservation Board, which includes money to study the availability of water in the Colorado River system, and refining the revolving fund intended to help pay the upfront costs of potential water projects.
