March 8, 2008--Summit unites top ag officials (Cortez Journal)

Hot topics such as immigration, the National Animal Identification System and noxious weeds were all discussed Thursday at the Four States Agricultural Exposition. For the first time in the history of the expo, agriculture leaders from three of the Four Corners states gathered for a 4 States Ag Summit. Colorado Agriculture Commissioner John Stulp, Utah Deputy Agriculture Commissioner Kyle Stephens and Arizona Department of Agriculture Director Donald Butler attended the summit. New Mexico Agriculture Director Miley Gonzalez wasn't able to attend. The nearly four-hour summit ranged in topics, and local farmers and ranchers were able to share their opinions with the state agriculture heads.
