May 20, 2008--Greeley partners with EPA to save water (Fort Collins Now)
Greeley’s water department is teaming with the U.S
Environmental Protection Agency to help residents save water and
themselves some money. The EPA is working with Greeley to help
residents identify water-saving fixtures to purchase for their homes
and is helping identify water-saving practices. According to a
release, if one in 10 homes in the United States was renovated with
water-efficient fixtures, it would save more than 300 billion gallons
of water and $2 billion annually. A typical home with water-efficient
fixtures can save 30,000 gallons of water per year. Fixtures
that are water savers are marked with the WaterSense label. For more
information on Greeley’s Water Conservation Program, call (970)
336-4134. For a list of WaterSense labeled products, go to www.epa.gov/watersense.
