June 4, 2008 --NISP public hearing added (The Reporter Herald)

FORT COLLINS — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recently scheduled a third public hearing on the Northern Integrated Supply Project.  The new meeting will be held 6 p.m. Monday, June 16, at the Fort Collins Hilton, 425 W. Prospect Road.  An open house will precede the hearing, starting at 4 p.m.  The Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District has proposed building two reservoirs, including Glade near Fort Collins, to store water from the Poudre River for use by several small Front Range communities. A local coalition, Save the Poudre, opposes the plan, saying it will dry up the river.
