June 15, 2008--Water panel looks to improve water transfers (Pueblo Chieftain)
A diverse group looking at how future agricultural to urban water transfers should be structured is getting ready to release its findings to the Arkansas Basin Roundtable. The group, made up of farmers, ranchers, urban water managers, rural officials and academic advisers, has been meeting for nearly two years, after Las Animas Mayor Lawrence Sena raised concerns about the relationship of urban growth to rural economies in 2006.
