July 15, 2008--Fountain Creek, Arkansas River levees to be recertified (Pueblo Chieftain)
Pueblo may be spared some of the challenges faced by Midwestern cities along the banks of the Mississippi River, but that's not to say officials here aren't concerned about the levees along both rivers in the city. City Stormwater Director Dennis Maroney said Friday that the Federal Emergency Management Agency is in the midst of redrawing its flood maps and the city will have to recertify the levees along the Fountain Creek as part of the process.
