July 17, 2008--Sewer district asks city for help (Lamar Ledger)

Seventy four residences along Prospect Lane west of Lamar have a problem and they recently asked Lamar to fix it. The problem is that as of July 1, the sewer district that serves the area was no longer able to provide service to its system. The district had, since its inception four years ago, been serviced by a single employee who worked under the state license possessed by A-1 Rental and Sales north of Lamar. This spring the district was informed A-1 would no longer serve as the supervisor for the district’s employee, effectively leaving the district and its 74 customers without a service department. According to Lenore Mulbery, a sewer district official, the maintenance man who has been servicing the district has been unable to pass the state certification examination.
