August 4, 2008--Denver now facing driest year on record (Pueblo Chieftain)

Denver is on track for its driest year on record, surpassing the record set in 2002 during the worst of a statewide drought. The National Weather Service’s gauge at the airport has recorded 3.28 inches of precipitation through July 31, nearly 2 inches below 2002’s pace of 5.34 recorded during the same period.
