August 28, 2008--Town to build wastewater plant, rates rising (Pagosa Springs Sun)
For Pagosa Springs sanitation district customers, there is bad news, and worse news. The bad news is that wastewater monthly rates rose almost 67 percent this past month, from $22.50 to $37.50 a month. The worse news is that those rates will continue to rise over the next few years as a new wastewater treatment plant is built and goes on line. And, according to interim town manager Tamra Allen, "Only a highly unlikely scenario will lower those rates at any time in the future."
