September 19, 2008--Alamosa plans water protection (Alamosa Valley Courier)

Although cross connections were not determined to be the source of the salmonella outbreak in Alamosa this spring, city officials are taking measures to make sure cross connection backflow situations will not create city water contamination problems in the future. The city council will consider for adoption in its October 1 meeting an ordinance governing cross connections to prevent backflow and protect the city’s water supply. The council will first hold a public hearing on the evening of October 1.
