September 27, 2008--Water levels to drop on Fryingpan (Glenwood Springs Post Independent)

The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation announced yesterday it would reduce the water release at Ruedi from 305 to 245 cubic feet per second. The drop came at the request of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, which wants to preserve its contracted water in Ruedi for a longer period this fall to benefit endangered fish on the Colorado River near the Grand Valley. The wildlife service has an agreement to use Ruedi water for its Endangered Fish Recovery Program.
