February 24, 2009--Creativity spurs Fountain's drive for water sources (Pueblo Chieftain)

Fountain now has about 25,000 people and expects to double that number by 2030. Its service area has grown with annexation of thousands of potential home sites in the past few years. Its growth rate of 3.5 percent annually has outpaced El Paso County as a whole for several years. So it’s not surprising that its water portfolio - the mix of sources that fills the pipes - is very diverse. Like Colorado Springs and Pueblo before it, Fountain is looking far and wide for water, but staying focused close to home.
