Drinking Water Regulations

Tougher rules to protect water users from contamination in wells are being considered by the Colorado Water Quality Control Commission. The Commission is seeking to tighten conditions, which include no new waivers for public drinking water systems and withdrawing waivers for schools and day care centers. “Revisions to the regulations will help ensure the safety of public drinking water supplies and enable the state to better enforce the standards established by the federal Safe Drinking Water Act,” said Ron Falco, Safe Drinking Water Program Manager.
