Kennedy Received Headgate Award

Gary Kennedy, superintendent of the Mancos Water Conservancy District and Bureau of Reclamation Dam Tender was recently awarded the Colorado Headgate Award for his service to the Colorado irrigated agricultural community. Kennedy's early career started in the oilfields in the Four Corners area. He then moved to the city of Cortez as a plant operator and then settled with the Mancos Water Conservancy District (MWCD) in 1989. During his tenure at the MWCD, Gary helped create the Mancos Watershed Protection Plan and became active in the HB 1177 process as a member of the Southwest Basin Round Table. His lat­est endeavor includes a run for the 2010 Senate seat for Colorado. Congratulations and good luck Gary!
