Animas-La Plata Project Tribute Garden Dedicated

The Animas-La Plata (ALP) Project tribute garden was dedicated during a ceremony on October 21st. Two bronze plaques with the names of more than 500 individuals, government agencies, and businesses overlook Lake Nighthorse. “The purpose of the site is to acknowledge that no one person could be responsible for the A-LP,” Christine Arbogast with Kogovsek & Associates (the lobbyist for the A-LP in Washington). “It was a team effort. There was a big family involved.” No funds from the Bureau of Reclamation, which constructed the A-LP Project, were used in building the tribute garden which overlooks the lake on the east side. The partners in the project funded the work, either monetarily or with in-kind services.
