Jim Isgar

For those who haven’t heard, Jim Isgar, Colorado State Director for the USDA Rural Development, has been having a rough go of it since last Fall. He was diagnosed with leukemia and has been undergoing intensive treatment in Denver. He recently received a bone marrow transplant from his sister, Joan, and, although still being closely supervised by his doctors, is able to be home in their Denver condo under his wife’s careful care. Jim was our State Senator from 2001 to 2009 representing Senate District 6. This District encompasses Archuleta, Dolores, La Plata, Montezuma, Montrose, Ouray, San Juan, and San Miguel counties. During his tenure in the Legislature, Jim was highly respected by both sides of the aisle, and was considered the water expert in both the House and Senate. His well crafted laws and decisions made a positive impact on his constituents in Southwestern Colorado, as well as all the people of Colorado. If you’d like to send your well wishes, they can be mailed to 700 Washington Street, #207, Denver, CO  80203, or send an email message through CaringBridge at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/jimisgar. Best wishes for a speedy recovery Jim!
