Animas-La Plata Operation, Maintenance, and Replacement Association

Effective April 1, 2013, the Animas-La Plata (A-LP) Project was transferred to the Animas-La Plata Operation, Maintenance, and Replacement (OM&R) Association. A contract for OM&R on the A-LP Project was signed on March 27, 2013. The contract identifies the terms and conditions for the OM&R responsibilities for the A-LP Project facilities (excluding recreational facilities). The Association is comprised of project sponsors including the: Animas-La Plata Water Conservancy District, Colorado Water Resources and Power Development Authority, Navajo Nation, San Juan Water Commission, Southern Ute Indian Tribe, and Ute Mountain Ute Tribe. When asked about the transfer, Ed Warner, Western Colorado Area Office Manager said, “This transfer represents another major milestone for the Animas-La Plata Project that was made possible by the hard work of the Four Corners Construction Office, the Western Colorado Area Office, and the Association. I would like to congratulate and thank everyone who made this possible.” Reclamation will retain ownership of project facilities and oversight of OM&R activities.
