October 23, 2007--Nucla to receive half million dollars (San Miguel Basin Forum)
The Department of Local Affairs recently awarded the Town of Nucla a half million dollars. The funding will be used to replace the 12 foot main water line in an area that has seen its share of problems. “I’m still in shock,” said Mayor Roxy Allex of the DOLA decision to offer $444,000 plus $50,000 to reimburse the town for work already done. It was Allex’s first time writing a grant and presenting one to a granting board.
