September 22, 2009--Ag rules near court; farmers unhappy (Pueblo Chieftain)
While the state expects to file irrigation consumption rules in
Division 2 Water Court by Sept. 30, farmers are still not happy with
the results. “You do not have consensus on filing these rules
the way they are,” said Dan Henrichs, speaking for the Arkansas Valley
Ditch Association. “We fully recognize that,” replied State
Engineer Dick Wolfe.
August 27, 2009--Grant funds used to reduce salinity (Montrose Daily Press)
A Crawford irrigation company received a $5.3 million grant from the
Bureau of Reclamation to reduce salinity in the Colorado River. Grandview
Canal & Irrigation Company will use the grant to pipe nearly five
miles of the Grandview Canal and five miles of associated irrigation
laterals located near Crawford.
