Kraft Leaving Area

Local water engineer, Amy Kraft, with Harris Water Engineering, will be leaving the area this Fall. Kraft has lived in Durango for 15 years and has been with Harris since 2001. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Fort Lewis College (FLC) in 2005 where she was given the Taylor-Gibbons Award for outstanding senior in Physics. From 2005 to 2010 she has been on the FLC Department of Physics/Engineering Professional Advisory Committee and from 2004-2005 she was President of the FLC Engineers Without Borders Chapter. Kraft has worked on many local water projects to include the: Animas Watershed Partnership (water quality issues with WQCD/WQCC), City of Durango RICD, Dolores Water Conservancy District (Watershed Management Plan), La Plata Archuleta Water District, Pine River Irrigation District (Watershed Management Plan), San Juan River Basin Recovery Implementation Program, and UMETCO Water Rights (Lower San Miguel River Water Resources Planning Study). Amy has contributed greatly to the water community in southwest Colorado and will be sorely missed, but we wish her well with all future endeavors.
