Bruce Whitehead, Executive Director of both the Southwestern Water Conservation District and the Animas-La Plata Water Conservancy District, was selected to be the newest Senator from Senate District 6 representing Southwest Colorado. He is replacing Jim Isgar who left the Colorado Senate to join the U.S. Department of Agriculture as Colorado State Director for Rural Development. Senator Whitehead is a civil engineer with a long career in the water field. He worked for 25 years with the Colorado Division of Water Resources and in 2008 was appointed by the Governor to serve on the Colorado Water Conservation Board. Bruce is a native Coloradan and lives in Hesperus with his wife and two daughters. Congratulations Bruce!
