King DNR Executive Director

On January 5th Governor Hickenlooper announced that Mike King will remain Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources. King was appointed to the position by Governor Ritter in May 2010 after serving as Deputy Director for more than three years. Previously he worked for six years in the Policy and Regulation Section at the Colorado Division of Wildlife and was an Assistant Attorney General from 1993 to 1999. King earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Colorado, a law degree from the University of Denver, and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Colorado at Denver. “I am honored at this appointment and look forward to fulfilling Governor Hickenlooper’s promise to responsibly balance conservation and development of our natural resources,” said King.
