Forests-to-Faucets Teacher Workshop

The WIP, in conjunction with the Mountain Studies Institute and the San Juan Mountains Association, will be conducting their first, pilot, Forests-to-Faucets Teacher Workshop June 26-27th. This is an opportunity for K-12 teachers to earn one continuing education credit from Adams State University. It is an extensive, hands-on field training for teachers in the Dolores/San Juan Basin to learn about their watershed. Attendees will meet in Durango, but drive to Silverton and follow the Animas River down. On day two they will visit Lemon Reservoir and tour the Ridges Basin burn area. In addition, there will be a tour of Lake Nighthorse, as well as Durango’s Water Treatment Plant. For more information and/or to register call (970) 247-1302 or visit the WIP website at
